Sirius Wilderness Medicine First Aid courses:

WILDERNESS FIRST AID (16 hrs.) $235 + tx

This is a practical based 16 hour course designed for individuals who will be participating in outdoor activities within hours of medical assistance.

This course will provide participants with an introduction to wilderness first aid. Basic topics are covered with an emphasis on practical skills, decision making and dealing with environmental conditions.

Required: physical ability to participate in an outdoor environment; all weather gear and the motivation to learn

WILDERNESS FIRST AID FOR OUTDOOR LEADERS (40 hrs.) $435 + tx

This 40 hour course has become a minimum standard for outdoor professionals, guides and instructors who work in a wilderness setting.

Course content extends far beyond urban based first aid programs to include elements inherent in leading groups in the outdoors and guiding wilderness adventures. Special emphasis is placed on prevention of injuries, accident scene management, leadership, leader responsibility and liability, advanced first aid kits, wound management and managing the trauma victim.

WILDERNESS FIRST RESPONDER (80 hrs.) $845 + tx
Wilderness First Responder is an advanced 80 hour program for outdoor professionals who work in remote settings, Guides, Rangers, rescue personnel, and those requiring a solid foundation in wilderness emergency care.

This program will focus on principles of management and decision making. Special emphasis is placed on prevention, traumatic injuries, illness assessment, accident scene management, long term patient care, leader responsibility and liability, advanced medical aid kits, wound cleaning, evacuation procedures and working with Emergency Medical Services.
